FAQs

What if I am not a Christian?

It is your choice to pursue,  however it will not change the way the sessions are conducted. We will still pray prior to the start and at the conclusion of each session. All guidance will still be scripturally based.

How are the sessions structured?

We provide feedback and guidance without stifling clients or allowing them to wander aimlessly through the counseling process. While we respect the direction the client wants to take with their sessions, we do make suggestions on issues that we feel may need more focus. The application of these suggestions is ultimately up to the client.

How long is the counseling process?

Each session is 55 to 60 minutes long. It is recommended that you commit to a minimum of 4 to 6 sessions to get the best results. Depending on the circumstances more sessions may be necessary under the advisement of the counselor, but again is at the discretion of the client.

Are parents included in sessions for children?

This depends on the nature of the problem. Normally, we do involve the parents in some capacity in every session when a child is counseling. The older the child, the more they are treated individually. We find that it is best to provide a safe, confidential space where the child can express themselves freely and truthfully. That being said feedback and support suggestions will be provided to parents after each session. In rare circumstances, we may deem it necessary to refrain from including and providing any information to parents.

We need marriage counseling, but my spouse is not willing to come in. What do I do?

Come in by yourself. As you begin to change amd make improvements, it can be just the motivation your spouse needs to come in.

Are my sessions Confidential?

Absolutely!! We are called The Vault for that very reason. All sessions and their contents are held in the strictest of confidence. Information will only be shared to proper authorities in the case you express harm to yourself or someone else.
